Their Story
This painting was extra special because it was a surprise wedding gift from Derrick to Karlie, an incredibly thoughtful gesture that made the experience even more meaningful for me as the artist. Knowing the painting would be a lasting reminder of such a heartfelt gift filled me with so much joy as I brought it to life.
The couple chose to be painted beneath a stunning stone archway bridge at their venue, surrounded by greenery and soft summer light. Karlie specifically requested that the beautiful willow trees in the background be included, and I knew they’d add such a dreamy, romantic touch to the scene. I’m so proud of how the entire composition came together, capturing not just their likeness, but the love and atmosphere of the day. Seeing their reaction to the finished piece was the highlight of it all!
