Their Story

Lucy & Jacob's love story is rooted in deep thoughtfulness and a desire to honor both of their families. Although their beautiful church ceremony in Sylvania was the one I painted live, it was actually their second wedding. Six months earlier, they had been married in Vietnam, where Lucy’s family lives. Rather than choosing one location over the other, they made the heartfelt decision to celebrate their marriage twice, ensuring that no one they loved had to miss out.

For their Sylvania ceremony, I was honored to be their live painter, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how meaningful their first wedding in Vietnam must have been. I suggested creating a second painting to commemorate that special day as well, so they could have both moments preserved. They loved the idea and I got to work, secretly selecting a photo from their Vietnam ceremony to surprise them with. It felt like the perfect way to connect the two celebrations and honor the full story of their union.

When I revealed the finished Vietnam ceremony painting to them, it brought everything full circle: a celebration of two weddings, two cultures, and one beautiful love story. It was such a meaningful project to be part of, and I’m so grateful to have helped honor both moments through art.
